Since this recipe is all about ease and that dump and go convenience, I typically use minced onion flakes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd-1&nbsp;packet Ranch seasoning mix &ndash; I feel pretty strongly that \u00bd packet is the right salt level for this dish; many recipes call for the entire packet, but I&rsquo;m a salt loving girl, and I find the roast inedible using the full packets.  Perhaps if you have a HUGE roast in the 6-10 pound size.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd-1&nbsp;packet Au Jus seasoning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pepperoncinis,&nbsp;whole &ndash; these add great flavor and a little spice to the crock pot Mississippi pot roast. I don&rsquo;t find the roast &ldquo;spicy&rdquo; though. Whisk in a cornstarch slurry (mix a teaspoon or two of cornstarch with equal parts water).
